Aberdeenshire-based surface preparation specialist eBlast, part of eGroup, is celebrating 20 years of continuous service for two of its longest standing team members, both of whom now hold senior leadership positions within the business.

Lukasz Sprot and Pawel Tomczyszyn, who both joined eBlast on the same day in October 2005, are now Production Managers responsible for leading the daily operations of the company’s specialist coatings work across its energy and construction divisions.

Over the course of two decades, both Lukasz and Pawel have progressed through a wide range of operational roles from general labourers to blasters, painters, forklift drivers and quality control before taking on their current production management roles, where they now oversee key contracts and ensure the efficient and quality led delivery of critical scopes.

Their progression reflects eBlast’s wider commitment to long term investment in its workforce and its belief that operational excellence starts with people. Both leaders are based at the company’s Kintore facility, where eBlast delivers large scale surface preparation and specialist coatings work for clients including Shell, Equinor, Harbour Energy and Aker BP.

Lukasz said: “When I first joined eBlast, I thought it would only be for six months. With the support and trust of my managers and colleagues, I grew step by step into new roles, and today I’m proud to be leading production. It shows what’s possible when you work hard, take advice, and are given the chance to prove yourself.”

Scott Duguid, Managing Director of eGroup, said: “Lukasz and Pawel’s long service is an example of what we stand for as a business. They joined at entry level and, through hard work and a deep understanding of our operations, have become invaluable leaders within the organisation. Their experience brings confidence to our teams and clients alike, and they embody the quality first approach that defines eGroup.”

The milestone coincides with a period of continued growth for eBlast and its sister company eTest, with a growing pipeline of work both in the UK and internationally. The group now employs 90 staff and continues to invest in plant, equipment, and talent to support expanding demand across energy and infrastructure sectors.

eGroup’s integrated delivery model combining surface preparation, specialist coatings and non-destructive testing under one roof enables seamless project delivery with a focus on safety, quality, and technical integrity. That consistency of service is reflected in the long tenure of many team members and the company’s strong client retention.

Many of the team have been with the business for over a decade, with the current management team alone having a combined 128 years of service with eGroup. That wealth of experience underpins the quality and consistency of work delivered across the board. In the past 12 months alone, the team has completed over 5,000 jobs with a 97.8% on-time delivery rate, a reflection of the strong culture, technical knowledge, and hands on expertise built over time.
