The Energy Institute Young Professionals Network (EIYPN) is proud to announce Revolution Aberdeen as its Official Networking Partner of the Year, marking an exciting partnership built on a shared commitment to developing and connecting the next generation of energy professionals.
A volunteer-led charity, EIYPN has been supporting young professionals across the energy sector for the past 15 years through a programme of networking events, professional development opportunities, technical presentations and social events. By creating opportunities to connect, learn and collaborate, the organisation continues to play an important role in strengthening Aberdeen's energy community.
The partnership was celebrated during EIYPN's Annual Summer BBQ, hosted by Revolution for the second consecutive year. The event brought together professionals from across the industry for an evening of networking, games, great food and the chance to build new connections in a relaxed setting.
This year's BBQ was particularly significant as it also celebrated EIYPN's 15th anniversary. Since its formation, the organisation has supported thousands of young professionals, becoming one of Aberdeen's most established and respected industry communities. Reaching this milestone reflects the dedication of its volunteer committee, the continued support of industry partners and the engagement of members who have helped shape EIYPN into the organisation it is today.
A highlight of the evening was an inspiring presentation from Bill Chilton, Diving Manager at the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA). Bill shared his career journey, from starting as an air and saturation diver to leading within one of the industry's most respected organisations. He also reflected on his 12 years with the UK's Health & Safety Executive, investigating diving fatalities, high-potential incidents and supporting decommissioning activities. His experiences highlighted how commitment, continuous learning and technical excellence can create a rewarding career in the energy industry.
The event captured the spirit of EIYPN, bringing people together, encouraging collaboration and creating opportunities that have a lasting impact. Whether attendees are new to the industry or looking to expand their professional network, every event is designed to help individuals build relationships that support both personal and professional growth.
EIYPN extends its sincere thanks to Revolution Aberdeen for its continued support and hospitality. Becoming Official Networking Partner of the Year is a natural extension of an already successful relationship, and both organisations share a genuine commitment to investing in the future of Aberdeen's energy professionals.
Looking ahead, excitement is building for the EIYPN Annual Dinner, one of the largest gatherings of young professionals in Aberdeen's energy calendar, attracting more than 250 attendees each year. This year's theme, "From Potential to Performance," reflects EIYPN's mission of helping individuals turn ambition into achievement through connection, development and opportunity.
As EIYPN celebrates 15 years of supporting the energy industry, the organisation remains focused on creating opportunities that inspire careers, strengthen professional networks and develop future leaders. None of this would be possible without the support of sponsors and partners who share that vision.
Sponsorship opportunities remain available for the remainder of 2026, with early conversations now open for the 2027 programme. Organisations looking to raise their profile, engage with Aberdeen's next generation of energy professionals and support a well-established charity are encouraged to contact EIYPN to discuss how they can become part of the network's continued success.
