employment seminar: gdpr in the hr context

Date: Tuesday May 23

Time: 8.00am - 10.00am

Venue: Chester Hotel, Queen's Road, Aberdeen, AB15 4YP

Cost: Free

The second of the 2017 breakfast seminars will focus on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the HR context.

Described as being the biggest shake up to privacy laws in the UK this century, this legislation will have a major impact on all businesses. In view of the nature and volume of employee data that employers process, all HR professionals will need to be up to speed with the impact of these new laws. We will provide guidance which is relevant to both HR professionals and other senior managers within the business on the practical impact of the new rules including employee consent, extended subject access rights and how to demonstrate compliance. Given the increase in potential fines, which have leapt from GBP500,000 to EUR 20,000,000, or 4% of annual global turnover (if higher) as well as significant potential reputational damage, this is a seminar not to be missed.

The second half of the seminar will focus on the most important employment law cases and legislative developments from recent months. We will also give you a heads up of what is on the horizon.
