The UK government's energy minister announcements "soon" on the future of Grangemouth as "exciting and viable" projects are explored.
Michael Shanks, who is also the MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, gave the update while speaking to the BBC's Sunday Show, confirming more than 80 potential investors had come forward.
It comes after the site, Scotland's last oil refinery, ceased processing crude in April, with full closure in the summer resulting in 430 job losses.
Both the UK and Scottish governments have pledged millions of pounds in support for Grangemouth, although the Scottish Conservatives have been critical of Labour's approach, calling it "managed decline".
Mr Shanks told the BBC: "We've had some really positive meetings around potential investors, in fact there's more than 80 investors who have come forward.
"I'm hopeful we will have some announcements soon. We have some really exciting, viable projects coming forward that will deliver jobs at Grangemouth long into the future."
