In September 2022 Sandaig Engineering celebrated its fourth birthday. The journey really began in October 2018 operating predominantly within the oil and gas sector, bringing in new business through its existing network and word of mouth. However, the company was excited by the energy transition agenda and recognised the potential value within the growing renewables sector.
Many opportunities have been made available in Scotland to help businesses transition and the onset of CV19 in February 2020 created some downtime which the company used to gain ISO9001:2015 accreditation and welcome support from SDI International Sales course and the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership WEST business transformation programme.
This support enabled Sandaig Engineering to gain a deeper understanding of the sector and confirmed there was a market ready for entry. Through building their business confidence and then joining the DEEPwind cluster, Sandaig Engineering won its first renewables contract and is now delivering QA/QC support in the Apache Forties Offgrid Wind Project in the North Sea.
As the firm moves into the post CV19 era they are embracing the many business development opportunities happening both Scotland and abroad. Floating Offshore Wind 2022 brings a great opportunity to showcase its services to the many companies attending. Sandaig Engineering will then prepare to exhibit at the ADIPEC SDI Scottish Pavilion where it will use this opportunity to share its consultancy knowledge to the energy sector and emerging renewable energy supply chain in the UAE. The company hope to make new contacts, create new partnerships and catch up with old business friends in the UAE.
