The Aberdeen office of a subsea and mechanical engineering specialist has revealed a significant uptick in enquiries as it eyes international growth in key target markets.

Imenco Subsea & Mechanical Engineering, UK division (part of Imenco AS) is reporting a near 50% increase in the value of work quoted during the first half of 2025 compared with the same period last year with Brazil, Guyana and the Gulf of Mexico proving to be particularly busy.

The company has now set its sights on increasing its foothold in Namibia and Angola as well as pressing on with plans to establish a presence in the growing Middle East market.

The news follows recent expansion in the company’s service offering to include a range of products encompassing subsea engineering, intervention, and system design solutions.  After 15 years operating in the UK, the move was seen as instrumental in correctly positioning the company for future expansion and was timed to coincide with its 45th anniversary.

A steady increase in Aberdeen-based mechanical department staff throughout the past 12 months has seen the team grow to four with further job creation anticipated as the company continues to adapt tried and tested solutions for use in the decommissioning and renewables market.
