Entries are now open for schools from across the North-east for a popular annual awards competition which promotes equality and human rights.
The GREC Anne Frank Awards 2018 are open to all primary and secondary-aged pupils at schools across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. All entrants will be invited to a ceremony in June 2018, awarded certificates, and given the chance to present their work to their peers.
The GREC Anne Frank Awards are one of the few remaining initiatives allowing schools to salute the moral courage of the young Dutch girl and her Jewish family who suffered as a result of Nazi persecution during World War II.
There are many ways in which schools can take part. Pupils may be involved in the celebration of events and anniversaries or the production of artwork, poetry, drama, and short films. Previously project work; PowerPoint, comic strips and songs have all been presented.
This year entries have been opened to coincide with national Anti-Bullying Week, November 13 - 17.
