Erskine Veterans Charity is calling for volunteers to help with a bucket collection at the Dundee FC v Rangers match this Sunday, 9th November at the Dens Park, Dundee, as part of its Remembrance Sunday activities, supporting Scotland’s Veterans.
Volunteers will be stationed inside the stadium before kick-off, collecting donations from supporters to raise vital funds for Erskine’s work providing care, accommodation and community support for Veterans across Scotland.
The charity is appealing for local people who can spare a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon to join its Fundraising Team in marking this emotional day for Veterans. Shifts are from around 130-300pm. Volunteer collectors will receive full support from an Erskine Fundraiser, with the opportunity to meet fellow supporters of the charity.
Michael Parkes, Erskine’s Fundraising and Development Manager (North), said: “Remembrance Sunday is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our country. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers in Dundee to help make our matchday collection a success. Funds raised will help Erskine to provide Veterans with vital care and companionship, and every volunteer plays a vital part in that effort.”
Erskine, Scotland’s Leading Veterans Charity, has been caring for the nation’s ex-servicemen and women since 1916. The charity supports over 1,200 veterans and their families each year through its care homes, accommodation and community-based services.
