Aberdeen-based financial systems specialist Escone Solutions has announced its sponsorship of Tony Docherty, who has joined Aberdeen FC’s coaching team.

The sponsorship has been arranged directly through the club.

Docherty, who spent eight years at Pittodrie as assistant manager under Derek McInnes between 2013 and 2021, returned to the club in February 2026 to support Peter Leven’s interim coaching setup. Since leaving Aberdeen, he has managed both Dundee and Ross County in the Scottish Premiership, earning a PFA Scotland Manager of the Year nomination during his time at Dens Park.

Escone Solutions implements and supports cloud based financial management systems and as an official partner of iplicit, they are growing their business with a trusted product, experienced employees and a specialised helpdesk called Escone Assist. The organisation also provides support services for OpenAccounts and eBIS, finance business intelligence dashboards and have clients across a variety of industries in the UK.

Mike Charles, Director and Co-Founder at Escone Solutions, said: “Aberdeen football is a huge part of this city we think it’s important to support businesses in our region. When the opportunity came up to sponsor Tony, it was a natural fit. Tony is a very well-respected coach, and he is bringing valuable experience to the club.

He added: “Tony’s been working at the highest level of Scottish football and was a fantastic servant to the club in his original position. We’re proud to support him and to strengthen our connection with Aberdeen FC and the local sporting community.”

The sponsorship is the latest in a series of steps by Escone Solutions to build its presence in the North-east business and sporting landscape. The company plans to share further updates on the partnership across its website and social media channels throughout the season.
