A portion of the team from Escone Solutions swapped desks for garden tools last week as part of a volunteer day supporting Beannachar, an Aberdeen-based charity and Camphill community for young adults with additional support needs.
The Escone team spent the day helping to clear and tidy outdoor areas at Beannachar, including space around the community’s outdoor pizza oven, which will be used by students for meals and activities over the summer months.
The visit marked the first of two planned volunteer days by Escone Solutions, with another group from the business due to return next month to continue supporting the charity’s outdoor improvement work.
Beannachar provides residential and day opportunities for young adults with additional support needs, offering a supportive environment where students can develop skills, confidence and independence through meaningful work, learning and community life.
The volunteer day gave Escone Solutions staff the opportunity to contribute practical support to the charity while spending time together outside the usual office environment.
Kevin Wyness, Director and Co-Founder of Escone Solutions, said:
“Beannachar does fantastic work in the local community, so it was a privilege for the team to spend the day helping out in a practical way.
“The weather was not exactly on our side, but everyone got stuck in and it was great to know the work will help the students make better use of their outdoor areas over the summer.
“We are looking forward to returning next month with the rest of the team and continuing to support Beannachar where we can.”
The first volunteer day was completed at the end of May, with the second planned for the end of June.
