As the festive season approaches, Evolve iMS - the UK-based digital transformation company with offices in Aberdeen and London - has pledged its support to Gathimba Edwards Foundation (GEF) through the charity’s annual ‘12 Days 12 Futures’ campaign by sponsoring 14-year-old Dorcas, a young girl in Kenya who has faced significant hardship but continues to excel academically and dream of a brighter future.

After losing her mother to cancer in 2020 and being abandoned by her father soon after, Dorcas now lives with her brothers in a single-room mud house, without basic comforts. Despite these challenges, she remains one of the top students in her grade and aspires to become a doctor.

Evolve iMS’s sponsorship will provide Dorcas with access to education and essential items, including school fees, meals, uniform, books, stationery, and menstrual care products. The company’s support will ensure she can continue her studies and work towards achieving her ambitions.

Robin Parkinson, Managing Director of Evolve iMS, says, “At Evolve iMS, we wanted to do something meaningful as a team this Christmas - something that would have a direct and lasting impact. Supporting Dorcas through Gathimba Edwards Foundation allows us to make a tangible difference in her life by helping her access education and pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. It’s a small contribution that can create long-term change, and we’re proud to play a part in her journey.”

GEF, co-founded by Aberdeen athlete Myles Edwards and Kenyan athlete Gideon Gathimba, provides education, shelter, and wellbeing support to disadvantaged children and families across Kenya and north-east Scotland. Now in its 10th year, the annual ‘12 Days 12 Futures’ campaign, which begins in October, raises funds to provide full education scholarships for children of all ages and in turn elevates the pressures for Kenyan families most in need during the festive period and onwards.

Kayleigh Paterson-Donald, GEF’s Charity Development Lead, says, “We’re so thankful to Evolve iMS for joining our Sponsor a Child programme. Their commitment to supporting Dorcas shows the real power of collective kindness and corporate compassion. With their help, Dorcas will have the stability and encouragement she needs to continue thriving at school and shaping a brighter future for herself and her family.”

Robin concludes, “GEF’s work continues to make a profound difference to so many lives. Their ‘12 Days 12 Futures’ campaign is a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion and community - values that we share at Evolve iMS.”
