Well and reservoir management specialist, Exceed – a Kent Company, has been awarded its second consecutive King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade (previously Queen’s Award for Enterprise) in recognition of “outstanding growth” in overseas sales over a period of three years (2023 – 2025).

With subsidiaries in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Namibia and Norway, the company operates across 41 countries, supporting the full asset lifecycle, from subsurface, exploration and development through to life of well integrity management, repurposing and decommissioning. To date, this includes the project management of more than 70 wells, performance improvement services on 50 well projects, and the decommissioning of over 150 wells.

During the three-year period assessed, the company continued to strengthen its presence in established and frontier E&P regions alike, including the creation of a Namibian entity from which it provides frontier deepwater exploration and appraisal well operations to operators in the high-potential Orange Basin.

In addition, operations in wider West Africa, Asia Pacific and the Middle East have contributed to an international portfolio which currently accounts for 70% of total company activity, putting the business firmly on track to achieve its 2026 target of 75%. That international momentum is set to accelerate, following Exceed’s acquisition by global energy leader, Kent, in 2025 - the objective of which is to unlock access to additional markets and scale the company’s capabilities globally.

As a recognised leader in the execution of well and reservoir management for the UK’s energy transition from its Aberdeen-based centre of excellence, Exceed will continue to internationalise this expertise and is already applying a decarbonisation focus to its overseas activity, including the delivery of the world’s first carbon offset well, offshore The Gambia.

Commenting on the Award, Ian Mills, Exceed Managing Director said: “Exporting our expertise and the development of local capability to deliver solutions to a global client base is central to our DNA, and has been a key strategic focus since we were founded 21 years ago. It is an honour to have our achievements recognised once again at the highest level.

“Mirroring our reputation for excellence in the UKCS, our international experience and supply chain capabilities have been trusted by operators on landmark projects worldwide, underlining our commitment to diversification and the world class results we achieve as we expand our global footprint.”
