A “once-in-a-lifetime” stay at a Royal Deeside country retreat has been donated to the auction being held at Maggie’s upcoming fundraiser, to support raising vital funds for cancer care in Aberdeen.

Attendees at this year’s Maggie’s Orange Ball will have the chance to bid on a private overnight stay for 20 guests at Raemoir House in Banchory, including cream tea on arrival, a three-course dinner, and breakfast. The 17th century country house, which operates on an exclusive-use basis, boasts incredible views over Royal Deeside and offers privacy and world-class hospitality. The package is perfect for a special family celebration, milestone birthday, unforgettable corporate escape, or even a murder mystery themed party.

The ball takes place on Saturday, September 6 at The Chester Hotel. Now in its third year, this Orange Ball is expected to take the combined fundraising from the trio of events past the £200,000 mark for Maggie’s Aberdeen.

Julie Grant from Aberdeen, a member of the organising committee, explained how she got involved with supporting Maggie’s. She said: “Many members of my family and several close friends have been affected by cancer, so I appreciate how crucial it is to have support on your doorstep to help in this difficult journey. I reached out to Maggie's several years ago and they offered that I could raise funds through Ladies afternoons at the Centre. I was delighted to join their fundraising team ahead of last year's Ball.

“We’re thrilled to offer such a unique, once-in-a-lifetime auction prize this year - it’s generosity like this that makes the evening so memorable. This special night is all about coming together to celebrate the incredible impact we’ve made and raising vital funds to support local people living with cancer.

“There is a lot of work ahead of the ball to make the evening such a fantastic event. We are now focusing on ensuring we have as many people at the event on the night as possible. Our first two balls have been an outstanding success, and I am positive this year’s will be no different.”

The ball will be hosted by compere Alex Fleming and will include a performance by female chorus Albacappella, jazz singers, and live music from Totico. Throughout the evening there will fun games with over 100 prizes to be won, and a live auction featuring one-off items.

Sponsors include Sonomatic, Hampton by Hilton Westhill, Compass Print, The Chester Hotel, ESM Scotland Ltd, and Fifth Ring.

Final tables are available. To book, contact: aberdeenfundraising@maggiescentres.org or call 01224 612914.
