TechFest is delighted to announce that EY Aberdeen has selected the charity as its Charity of the Year.

This will help TechFest continue delivering inspiring STEM experiences to thousands of young people across the North-east of Scotland, while supporting the charity's mission to make high-quality STEM education accessible to all.

Each year, TechFest employs many young people as Festival Assistants to help deliver its festivals and events. For many, this is their first experience of paid employment. Alongside earning a wage, they receive training and support to develop valuable employability skills including communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving. These opportunities provide young people with the confidence and practical experience they need as they take their first steps into the world of work, but they are only possible through the support of organisations like EY that choose to invest in TechFest's work.

As a registered charity, TechFest is also committed to keeping its activities free or available at a very low cost, ensuring schools, families and communities can access high-quality STEM experiences regardless of financial circumstances. However, as charities across the UK face increasing financial pressures, sustaining these opportunities has become more challenging than ever. Support from businesses like EY plays a vital role in ensuring TechFest can continue investing in young people, removing barriers to participation and inspiring the next generation to discover the opportunities available through STEM.

TechFest is incredibly grateful to everyone at EY Aberdeen for choosing to support the charity and looks forward to working together over the coming year.
