School might be back, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! This autumn, Aberdeen Comedy Festival is keeping the fun going with two weekends of family-friendly comedy guaranteed to lift spirits and tickle funny bones of all ages.
From laugh-out-loud live shows to interactive performances perfect for little ones (and their grown-ups), the 2025 festival promises a playful escape for families looking to keep the holiday magic alive - no permission slip required.
On Saturday 27 September, Comedy Club 4 Kids brings the hilarity of the comedy club without all the rude bits for audiences aged 6 and up. Since 2005, Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children. Expect hijinks and hilarity and a higher than usual chance of heckles like “why is that your face!?”.
Following a highly acclaimed season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Spain’s greatest Welsh export, Ignacio Lopez brings Juan Solo's Excellent Adventures in Space! to the Lemon Tree on Sunday 28 September. Join Live At The Apollo’s Ignacio Lopez (Juan Solo) on a daring journey through the galaxy, in his rust bucket of a ship, the Millennial Falcon! Tasked with transporting 100 humans to the Galactic Holiday Empire’s latest resort, every passenger will receive full training in safety protocol, entertainment from our resident comedians and *probably* won’t be vaporised.
Lopez also brings his adult stand-up, Ignacio Lopez - Nada to the Lemon Tree later the same evening.
The following weekend, Aberdeen Comedy Festival welcomes acclaimed French comedian Marcel Lucont with his wild and family-friendly game show with Marcel Lucont: Les Enfants Terribles, in which kids get to be pests, politicians and pétomanes to be crowned the most awful child. A big hit at Edinburgh Fringe and many other festivals, the multi-award-winning comic channels his acerbic humour and quickfire wit into a series of tasks for the younger generation, which is every bit as entertaining for adults as it is for children. See what happens when international insouciance meets infantile exuberance, as Marcel Lucont comes to the Lemon Tree Saturday 04 October.
Marcel Lucont: Les Enfants Terribles, Saturday 4 October
Don’t miss Marcel Lucont's Whine List the preceding evening, Friday 3 October.
Finally on Sunday 5 October, best friends Ruby and Rachel present Shelf, winner of UK’s Best Kid’s Comedy Show 2023. Full of sketches, songs, pranks and silliness, Rachel and Ruby use physical comedy and silly characters to bring sketch comedy to children of all ages. This family-friendly show is fun for all ages and a fun way to explore emotions, friendship and shyness.
Revived by Aberdeen Performing Arts, Aberdeen Comedy Festival returns to the city Monday 22 Septmeber to Sunday 5 October.
