Aberdeen-based video production and creative communications company Farsight has been working with ASET International Energy Training Academy to produce a series of videos promoting the organisation’s specialist training facilities in Aberdeen.

Farsight supports businesses and organisations through video production, brand photography, campaign content and visual communication, helping them show more of the people, places and value behind their work. The project with ASET focused on capturing the scale, detail and practical learning environments across its Altens and Gallowgate centres.

ASET is one of the UK’s leading specialist training providers, delivering industry-relevant and safety-focused technical training to support the energy transition and wider industrial sectors. Established in 1993, ASET is a wholly owned subsidiary of North East Scotland College.

The video series was created to help promote ASET’s excellent facilities and give employers, delegates and industry partners a stronger sense of what takes place across its training environments.

Filming took place across a range of areas, including practical simulators, training spaces and specialist facilities used to support hands-on learning. ASET’s facilities are designed to reflect real-world working environments, with training supported by industry-standard equipment, live systems, high-voltage and low-voltage equipment, hazardous area rigs, marine simulators and practical workshop environments.

For Farsight, the project was helping an important Aberdeen training provider show the substance behind its work and the role its facilities play in supporting skills development.

Michael Silva, Founder of Farsight, said: “ASET is one of those places where you quickly realise there is something worth capturing in every direction. The facilities, the simulators, the training environments and the people involved all help show the scale of what they deliver. Our role was to create video content that gives people a stronger sense of the experience before they step through the door, while helping ASET promote the value of its training facilities to delegates, employers and industry partners.”

Jonny Charles, Marketing & Communications Specialist at ASET said: “One of the challenges we have from a marketing perspective is showing the true scale of what we have at ASET. We have such a wide range of specialist facilities and practical training environments across our two sites, and it can be difficult to communicate that through photography and the content we previously had.

From the outset, Michael and the Farsight team quickly understood what I was looking to achieve and were able to take that initial vision and bring it to life. Working with them has given us a much better way to showcase our facilities, our training and the hands-on experience we provide. We’re really pleased with the finished videos and are looking forward to using them across our website and wider marketing activity to give customers and delegates a much stronger sense of what they can expect when they come to ASET.”

The completed video series will support ASET’s wider marketing and communications activity, giving the organisation a bank of visual content to use across its website, social media, course promotion and stakeholder engagement.

The work reflects Farsight’s wider approach to video production: helping organisations show what makes them credible, capable and worth paying attention to.
