Licensed restaurants, bistros, pubs and clubs in Aberdeen are to have an extra hour of opening on several dates over the festive season.
Aberdeen City Licensing Board agreed to the extension under section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 at a meeting on November 16.
The order means that all on-sales premises with the exception of casinos, whose standard hours conform to the daily 15-hour maximum trading period as per the Licensing Board’s Statement of Licensing Policy, may extend the licensed hours by one hour beyond the usual terminal hour.
The extension applies on the following dates:
Friday, December 14
Saturday, December 15
Friday, December 21
Saturday, December 22
Monday, December 24
Wednesday, December 26
Friday, December 28
Saturday, December 29
Monday, December 31, 2018.
Premises licence holders who qualify for these additional hours do not require to make any extended hours applications for these dates.
There is no obligation placed on licence holders to take advantage of these extensions should they not wish to do so.
