Film-Ocean has welcomed Nathan Stewart to the team as Inspection Operations Manager.
It’s a key appointment as the Aberdeen-based ROV services company continues to expand its inspection capability and deliver solutions to clients across the full project lifecycle.
Nathan is no stranger to the demands of offshore inspection. His career began in the Royal Engineers as a Land Surveyor – a decade of service that gave him the technical rigour, organisational discipline and problem-solving instincts that would define his professional path. After leaving the military, he worked onshore before making the move into the offshore sector with DOF Subsea in 2013. There, an opportunity to specialise in structural inspection proved to be a natural fit.
“Structural inspection has the right balance of technical interest, thorough diligence and data organisation that I’d gained from my survey background,” he says. “It’s a natural fit and I’m comfortable in my niche.”
At Film-Ocean, Nathan’s remit is broad and fast-moving. He’s responsible for enhancing the company’s inspection capability and overseeing service delivery across the full project lifecycle. Day to day, that means juggling operational personnel, client relationships and equipment – all while getting to grips with Film-Ocean’s Remote Operations Centre (ROC).
Looking ahead, Nathan is focussed on building systems to support growth, developing an inspection team and advancing Film-Ocean’s technological offering. He particularly relishes being presented with a client problem and finding the solution, adding: “I’m excited to be part of a dynamic, growing and driven business, and I’m ready to take on the challenges it brings.”
