Time is running out for classic car and motorcycle drivers to secure their place in Clan Cancer Support’s 2025 Cavalcade, where participants are invited to take a scenic trip to a range of local businesses which share a passion for water.
The Water Tour takes place on Friday, August 22, with pit stops throughout the day providing the opportunity for drivers to visit a variety of water-themed businesses and venues.
Drivers will set off from Threaplands Garden Centre after breakfast before visiting Refresco Ltd in Macduff, where site maintenance manager Nick Plumbtree will give a behind-the-scenes look into the world’s largest independent bottling company.
The tour will also stop at JC & Co Rennie Ltd, a renowned wool spinning company, where director Christian Smith will share how water aids the cleaning, softening and dyeing of wool, as well as insights into the heritage and craftmanship behind the business
The event will include lunch at Barra Castle, as well as visits to Filpumps, Scotland’s leading pump and water supply specialist, and Roehill Springs Distillery, where owner Duncan Morrison will speak about the handcrafted gins and vodkas, prepared using water from Roehill spring.
Drivers will then return to Elgin for a two-course meal at The Sunninghill Hotel.
Clan is keen to hear from owners of classic cars and motorcycles who would like to join the tour which will raise awareness and vital funds for the cancer support charity.
Julie Ferguson, Clan’s moray local services co-ordinator, said: “Our Cavalcade is one of our fundraising highlights in Moray. It brings people together from all over and there’s such a great sense of community around it. Participants and locals gather every year to see the amazing range of vintage and classic cars on display.
“This year’s water theme offers a unique opportunity to visit businesses that have a strong connection to water, whether through production, craft or engineering. We’re very proud to highlight so many fantastic examples within our local area.
“With 16 drivers already signed up and interest continuing to grow, we’re encouraging anyone interested in taking part to register now, as spaces are limited. This is a fantastic day out, with every mile driven helping to raise much needed funds for those impacted by cancer in the local community, ensuring Clan can provide vital support services to those in need.”
Clan’s Elgin is open Monday to Thursday offering support, information, and a range of complementary therapies, and is situated centrally on Elgin’s High Street.
