There are tickets remaining for this Wednesday's fundraising concert in Aberdeen, being held in aid of flourishing Deeside arts venue St Margaret’s Braemar.
The “Windswept” concert — a musical tour of Scotland — is being held at 7.30pm on 29th November at Fountainhall Church at the Cross (formerly Queen’s Cross Church).
Tickets are available to purchase online and there will be also be an allocation on the door.
The concert will include performances from the University of Aberdeen Chamber Choir, vocalists Colin Brockie and Moira Docherty, singer-songwriter Fiona Kennedy and renowned Scottish fiddler Paul Anderson. Audience-goers will also be treated to world-class bagpiping from piobaireachd maestro Dr Jack Taylor and Doric comedy from Craig Pike of the Flying Pigs.
While St Margaret’s has established itself as one of the North East’s leading arts centres and a destination venue for visitors over recent years, it remains on the ‘Buildings at Risk’ register — with future plans to restore and upgrade the venue likely to cost several million pounds. All funds raised on the night will go towards the St Margaret’s Trust to support these improvements.
The event will feature a fundraising raffle with books signed by some of the most high-profile speakers and performers to grace the St Margaret’s stage this year up for grabs, including Dame Judi Dench, Rick Stein and Grade Dent.
Among the prizes are tickets for upcoming events at St Margaret’s, including ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris and Colin Hall’s ‘The Songs the Beatles Gave Away’ show in April.
Completing the list of top raffle prizes are a night’s escape at the 5-star Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar and dinner at the Fish Shop Ballater, newly listed in the Michelin guide.
Commenting, St Margaret’s trustee and organiser Colin Hunter OBE said:

“We’ve got an incredible line-up of talented artists, who will take the audience on a musical journey to every corner of Scotland.
“And there’s some great raffle prizes to get your hands on too as we seek to raise £50,000 to deliver improved facilities at St Margaret’s and a better experience for our visitors and performers alike.”
