Local children’s charity Charlie House is calling all golfers to join its fundraising golf day in the home of golf, St Andrews.
The event, in partnership with luxury travel business Luxe Scot, and Ping High Golf Events, will be held on Friday, 23 June at one of Britain’s most outstanding golf courses – the Duke’s Course.
Open to teams of four, guests will be served bacon rolls on arrival before heading to the warmup facilities in preparation for the 11am shotgun start. Prizes will be available for the winning team plus longest drive and nearest the pin and the day will culminate in a two-course dinner before heading back to Aberdeen.
All funds raised from the golf day will go towards the Charlie House Big Build Appeal; an £8million capital appeal to build the Charlie House Specialist Support Centre in Aberdeen for babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families.
Fundraising Team Lead Oliver Middleton said: “Perfect for team-building, client entertainment, or a day out with a group of golf loving friends - we’re looking forward to this exciting event. Players can enjoy a great day of golf at one of the best courses in the UK all the while raising money for our Big Build Appeal.
“Currently in the UK there are 48 children’s hospices offering respite and palliative care, two of which are in Scotland, and both are more than 100 miles away from Aberdeen. This means children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families must complete a 200-mile round trip to access essential support and care. We think this is unacceptable and this is our motivation to build our specialist care facility right here in the North-east of Scotland.”
Entry costs £1,000 per team of four and includes return travel to Aberdeen, golf, light breakfast, lunch, snacks & refreshments, plus a two-course dinner. Hole sponsorship opportunities are also available.
