Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North (EVACN) has received a generous £500 donation from Forres Fire Station.

The cheque was presented by local firefighter, David Haytack who also serves as Vice Chair of the EVAC North Members Committee, on behalf of the station crew.

Each year, the Forres Fire Station team escort Santa around Forres alongside the Rotary Club, bringing festive cheer to the community. The much-loved event raises vital funds, which are split between the Rotary Club and the Fire Station to support local charities and good causes.

This year, Forres Fire Station divided its share of the funds equally between four charities: Kieran’s Legacy, The Firefighters Charity, The Firefighters Family Support Trust, and Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North, with each organisation receiving £500.

Speaking about the donation, David said: "It’s a real honour to be able to support Erskine and the incredible work being done at the Veterans Activity Centre here in Forres. We’re proud to give something back to the community."

And Michael Parkes Fundraising & Development Manager for the North said: “A huge thanks to Forres Fire and Rescue Service and Forres Rotary Club for their very kind support at their 2024 Santa Run. Their generous donation will help make a difference to the Erskine Veterans Activity Centre (EVAC) North in Forres. Since opening in December, EVAC North is already providing life-changing and sometimes life-saving support to over 500 Veterans across Moray and beyond. We rely on voluntary income to continue activities and services that help our members connect, learn new skills, and find renewed purpose in their lives after service.”
