Zack Polanski has admitted he did not vote in last week’s local elections, despite previous claims he had voted in Hackney by post.

The Green Party leader previously indicated through a spokesman that he had cast a postal ballot in Hackney and publicly said he was voting for the party’s mayoral candidate in the east London borough.

However, after inquiries by The Times, the party confirmed on Thursday that he had in fact not registered to vote in the elections. A spokesman suggested this was because of fears for his safety.

Some people are "very inclined to overestimate what these [AI] tools can do," he said, and warned against claims that it would destroy vast numbers of computing roles over the coming years.

The firm said it was scrapping some of its EV production targets and would source parts from China, where prices are lower, to keep costs down.
