ITV in talks to sell television business to Sky
ITV has said it is in "preliminary" discussions to sell its television business to Sky for £1.6billion.
The talks focus on ITV's Media and Entertainment division, which include its TV channels as well as its streaming service, ITV X.
The discussions with Sky, which is owned by US-based Comcast, come as the television industry faces fierce competition from streaming services such as Netflix and Disney.

Vovem restaurant will reopen with a brand-new look more than a year after a devastating fire.
Most of the restaurant seating as well as the kitchen was gone, forcing bosses to reopen as a bar for the rest of 2024 into 2025.
However, now the final touches are complete with the restaurant fully revamped thanks to a £1million investment.

Mango welcomes first customers to new Aberdeen store
Mango has officially opened at Union Square shopping centre in Aberdeen which will employ 20 new staff.
The shop promises to offer its unique collection of “contemporary and versatile womenswear inspired by the Mediterranean” to Aberdeen shoppers.
They say their range will include a wide range of clothing, footwear and accessories at “reasonable prices”.
Diageo cuts sales forecast despite beating first-quarter estimate
The global spirits group behind Guinness and Johnnie Walker whisky has lowered full-year sales guidance despite delivering a better-than-expected first-quarter performance.
Diageo told shareholders it now expected organic net sales growth this year to be “flat to slightly down”, having previously guided to a similar level to last year.
It also guided towards “low to mid single-digit” organic operating profit growth over the full year, having previously referred to “mid single-digit” growth.
