What do Superman, Batman, Iron Man, a Minion, and even a full-size dinosaur have in common? They’ve all been spotted running through Aberdeen — thanks to Marius Coste and his incredible Miles of Smiles campaign.

Marius, an Aberdeen-based Elior UK manager, has pledged to run 50km every week until December 2026, always in costume, to raise awareness and funds for SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) and Clan Cancer Support.

So far:

  • 830km covered
  • £1,100 raised
  • Endless smiles (and double-takes!) along the way

Most recently, Marius brought his larger-than-life campaign to the Celebrate Aberdeen parade, joining the march in costume alongside his daughter Anna. The story caught the eye of STV News National, shining a spotlight on his mission and the causes driving it.

Marius says: “It’s about showing that small steps, taken consistently and with purpose, can make a big difference. If I can raise a smile while raising awareness, then every mile is worth it.”
