A new season of shows announced for His Majesty’s Theatre and the Music Hall today are set to transport audiences from the supernatural to sublime with enchanting musicals, haunting drama, and stunning performances from world-class musicians all set to visit the Granite City.

New ballet, opera and orchestral seasons will also be heading for the city as Aberdeen Performing Arts unveil their new Autumn brochure.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will enchant His Majesty’s Theatre from June 17-21 2025, while paranormal thriller Ghost Stories will thrill from April 1-5 2025. Bill Bryson’s smash hit memoir, Notes from a Small Island will journey to the His Majesty’s stage from June 24-28 2025.

Meanwhile, world-renowned percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie will make a spectacular return to the Music Hall on October 24 joined by the New London Chamber Ensemble, for an evening of music and conversation not to be missed. Also included in the new season are three Scottish National touring orchestras, including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Aberdeen Football Club’s Class of ‘84 will gather at the Music Hall on December 4, and another local legend will be celebrated on October 20 with A Toast Tae Robbie Shepherd.

Scottish Opera will return to His Majesty’s with the comedic Don Pasquale on November 21 this year and The Merry Widow on June 12 and 14 2025, while Scottish Ballet will bring The Crucible from April 17-19.

Families have been well catered for with the Lemon Tree Christmas Show, with Unicorn Christmas Party bringing a sparkle to the Lemon Tree from November 30 – December 22 and a visit to His Majesty’s Theatre from children’s favourite Bing also planned for 2025.

And we’re delighted to have Aberdeen Football Club’s Class of ‘84 at the Music Hall for one night only this December.

Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they meet new friends, face dangerous foes and learn the lessons of courage, sacrifice and the power of love. Watch the nation’s favourite novel come to life on stage in this spectacular production direct from the West End.

Ghost Stories introduces us to Professor of Parapsychology, Philip Goodman, an arch-sceptic with a mission to debunk the paranormal, wherever it occurs.

But when he embarks on an investigation of three apparent hauntings – as recounted by a night-watchman, a teenage boy, and a businessman awaiting his first child – Goodman finds himself at the outer limits of rationality, and fast running out of explanations.

Come and join Aberdeen Legends Class of ‘84 starring Gordon Strachan, Willie Miller, Eric Black Mark McGhee as they discuss being part of that winning team and how Fergie made them into a force to be reckoned with, hosted by Aberdeen legend Charlie Nicholas.

Robbie Shepherd was a much-loved household name for almost than 60 years and this very special variety show will celebrate his immeasurable contribution to the cultural life of Scotland. From Pipe Bands to Scottish Dance Bands, to Fiddlers Singers and Dancers, an array of weel kent performers will grace the stage in ‘a grand nicht’, nae to be missed!

Scottish Opera’s Don Pasquale is determined to retain his fortune and spite his nephew by finding a seemingly perfect young bride. But he soon discovers married life is not what he expected. With colourful ad comedic style, Don Pasquale is brought to life against the backdrop of the Swinging Sixties and Donizetti’s luminous score. David Stout returns to Scottish Opera in the title role.

In The Merry Widow, we meet Hannah Glawari, a glamourous widow who sets hearts aflutter in Paris. Expect glittering style and sophistication in Lehar’s waltz-filled charmer, brought to life by internationally acclaimed designer takis.

The intense, visceral choreography in Scottish Ballet’s award-winning, edge of your seat production The Crucible unleashes the emotional force of Arthur Miller’s famous play about the 17th century Salem witch trials. Tender, devastating duets are followed by intoxicating solos and wild, feverish ensemble numbers as the tight knit village community unravels into chaos.

Join glittering, magical unicorns Melody and Luna for the Lemon Tree Christmas Show, Unicorn Christmas Party as they bring a little winter sunshine, moonlight, good times and a lot of boogie into everyone’s lives, with easy-to-follow dance moves and a soundtrack of Christmas hits.

Join Bing and his friends Sula, Pando, Coco, Amma and of course Flop as they get ready to celebrate his special day in the brand new live stage show, Bing’s Birthday. Things won’t always go to plan but, with the guidance of Flop and his friends, Bing has a birthday he won’t ever forget. Come along, dress up and have fun with lots of songs and joining in.
