Fulkrum, a global leader in inspection, expediting, auditing, and technical staffing services, has successfully completed the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessment for a major client’s European Sour Gas Plant.
The project aimed to evaluate the plant’s ability to operate under increased pressures and assess its potential for life extension while ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
As part of the assessment, Fulkrum conducted an in-depth review of the RBI framework, maintenance and inspection plans, and overall integrity management strategy.
This process involved a comprehensive analysis of plant documentation, historical inspection records, and risk assessments. Additionally, Fulkrum’s experts evaluated RBI results, corrective maintenance practices, and Fitness for Service (FFS) assessments, ensuring the plant could safely manage the anticipated increase in operating pressures.
A key objective of the assessment was to determine the feasibility of extending the plant’s operational life. To achieve this, Fulkrum performed an on-site walkthrough and conducted interviews with key personnel from operations, maintenance, and integrity teams.
This hands-on approach provided valuable insights into the plant’s systems, including the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Corrosion Database, and records of anomalies, FFS assessments, and Operational Risk Assessments.

Following the evaluation, Fulkrum produced a comprehensive report that highlighted key findings, identified areas for improvement, and offered strategic recommendations. The report provided an assessment of asset conditions, remaining life expectancy, and a prioritised list of critical assets, all aimed at supporting the client’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest safety and reliability standards.
Commenting on the successful completion, Cristian Sagliocco, regional manager for Europe and Africa at Fulkrum stated: “This project highlights Fulkrum’s expertise in asset integrity and risk-based inspection, ensuring that our clients’ facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the highest industry standards. We are proud to have supported this project in optimizing the long-term reliability of the European Sour Gas Plant.”
The successful completion of this assessment reinforces Fulkrum’s position as a trusted partner in the energy sector, delivering integrity management and inspection solutions that enhance safety, reliability, and long-term performance across various projects.
