Deeside councillor Geva Blackett has fumed she'll never shop in Aberdeen city centre again after falling foul of the local authority's confusing bus gates.
Mrs Blackett, who represents Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, told The Press and Journal she'd found herself "trapped" by the Guild Street bus gate.
The grandmother had come into the city to get her hair done and planned to pop into the new Marks and Spencer in Union Square to pick up some strawberries for her grandchildren - before things went wrong.
Following the advice of Google Maps, Mrs Blackett told the P&J, she didn't realise what she had done until it was too late when she saw the blue paint and the large "BUS GATE" lettering on the road surface.
The councillor paid the "very threatening" fine she received a few days later, but is now adamant she will never risk incurring such a penalty again by venturing into the city centre.
