Robert Gordon’s College will host its inaugural Gala Dinner on Friday, September 4 at P&J Live, Aberdeen, bringing together the global Gordonian community, regional sports partners and the wider business and community network for an evening of celebration, entertainment and connection.
The event will celebrate the
College’s achievements over the last decade and look ahead to an exciting new
chapter for sport as they look to raise funds for new sports facilities
for school use and for the wider community.
Annie
Kenyon, Governor of Robert Gordon’s College, and founder of Annie Kenyon
Architects, highlighted the importance of the event in strengthening community
connections and supporting the College’s ambitions for sport and regional
engagement: “The Gala Dinner is a fantastic opportunity to bring together the
wider Gordonian community alongside regional partners, businesses and
supporters from across Aberdeen and the surrounding area. Events like this play
an important role in strengthening connections across education, sport and the
wider community, and in supporting the ambition of the College to further
develop their sports campus as a hub for sport and opportunity.

“It also marks an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to investing in high-quality sporting facilities that will benefit both the College and the wider region. The first phase of development will include improved flow across the Countesswells campus, a new athletic development and fitness suite at Schoolhill, and the creation of a new 3G pitch, enabling year-round training and competitive fixtures. Together, these developments will enhance sporting provision, increase access to modern facilities, and support participation and performance sport across Aberdeen and the surrounding region.”
The event is attracting former pupils from across the world to return to Aberdeen and support RGC with their campaign for sport. Former Scotland Rugby International, Ruaridh Jackson (Class of ’06) and current Sales Manager at The Glenturret will be combining his passion for rugby and profession within the whisky industry as he supports RGC in their vision for sport.
Ruaridh shared: “I am delighted to support RGC as it takes forward its new vision for sport. The facilities at the school’s sports campus are already first class, and these exciting developments will further strengthen the provision available to young people across the North-east, helping to put Aberdeen firmly on the map for sporting excellence.”
Taking place at P&J Live, the event is expected to be one of the biggest on the RGC calendar, with guests encouraged to secure their place early.
