Gathimba Edwards Foundation (GEF) has established a new Fundraising Advisory Board to support its long-term fundraising strategy as demand for its services continues to grow.

Meeting three times a year, the board will provide strategic guidance and practical support to strengthen fundraising activity across the UK and Kenya.

The Fundraising Advisory Board includes David Hunt, Rachael Ayres, Sarah Millard, David Marshall, Fiona Booth and Tracie Lovie, bringing a breadth of experience to support the charity’s continued development.

Although recently formed, the board has already made an impact, contributing to early fundraising success, including support in securing event sponsorship.

Myles Edwards, Co-Founder of Gathimba Edwards Foundation, said: “As demand for our support grows, it’s important that we continue to strengthen how we fundraise. With a small team, it is vital we spend our time in the right areas. This includes improving our existing fundraising channels and exploring new, high impact activities. Optimising our fundraising is the catalyst to GEF supporting more children and families, and I am delighted to add the support and drive of David, Rachael, Sarah, David, Fiona and Tracie to our existing GEF team and supporters. The Fundraising Advisory Board brings together people who understand fundraising and share our values. Even at this early stage, their input, experience and fresh perspective is already making a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”

The initiative reflects GEF’s commitment to building sustainable support, helping ensure it can continue delivering meaningful, long-term impact for the communities it serves.
