The Gathimba Edwards Foundation (GEF) is establishing a dedicated Fundraising Advisory Board to help meet the growing demand for its life-changing services across north-east Scotland and Kenya.

This new board will play a vital role in strengthening the charity’s fundraising strategy and providing additional support to the existing Board of Trustees.

GEF is seeking three experienced and values-aligned volunteers to join the new Advisory Board, which will comprise five members in total. The Board is expected to meet approximately three times per year, with members potentially taking an active role in one or two specific initiatives.

GEF hopes to attract volunteers who bring a combination of strong business networks, effective communication skills, experience or understanding of strategic sales, influence within the local business community, credible leadership abilities, and a clear alignment with the mission, values and objectives of the Gathimba Edwards Foundation.

The Fundraising Advisory Board will contribute directly to two core agenda items at each meeting, supporting GEF’s renewed strategic focus on sustainable fundraising and long-term impact.

Myles Edwards, at Gathimba Edwards Foundation, said: “We’re excited to welcome individuals who share our commitment to creating brighter futures for disadvantaged children and families in both north-east Scotland and Kenya. This new Advisory Board will strengthen our ability to grow, adapt and meet the increasing needs within the communities we serve.”
