The Gathimba Edwards Foundation (GEF) is delighted to welcome Kirsty Oag as the charity’s summer intern for 2025.

Kirsty, a university student with a longstanding connection to GEF, will join   the team for the next three months. During her internship Kirsty will support a wide range of activities including event planning, social media, and day-to-day operations. Kirsty will also be involved with the delivery of GEF’s Hope & Fizz Ladies Lunch event this September.

Kirsty’s involvement with GEF began several years ago when she took part in GEF’s bi-annual trip to Kenya to build homes for underprivileged families Kirsty also sponsors the education of a young Kenyan girl which has been transformative to her quality of life. 

Talking of her experience with the charity, Kirsty said: “I have seen firsthand all the work that goes on in Kenya and what kind of a difference GEF can make to people’s lives. It has made me feel almost compelled to keep being involved with the charity and I am passionate about the work that they do. I feel really lucky to get the chance to be involved in something like this.”

Kayleigh Paterson-Donald, Charity Development Lead, said: “We’re so excited to have Kirsty joining us this summer. She’s already demonstrated her passion for our mission and brings with her a great deal of energy and creativity. Her support will be invaluable as we plan and deliver our upcoming events.”
