Gleneagles, the iconic Perthshire property, is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Quainton and Lucy Sikora to its senior sales team as it sets out ambitious plans to strengthen its presence in the groups market.
South East-based Emma and Lucy, former colleagues and close friends, have joined forces in a new job share position at Gleneagles. Joining the team as sales associates, Lucy and Emma bring over 20 years of collective industry experience to their post and will look after business development for the hotel.
Their appointments follow the completion of an extensive four-year refurbishment programme, which has seen Gleneagles undergo a complete transformation – from the rooms, to all restaurants and bars, as well as all event spaces. The guest experience has been completely enhanced, resulting in a ‘Glorious Playground’ of countryside adventures for its guests, allowing Gleneagles to reclaim its position as one of the finest hotels and sporting estates in the world.
In their new shared role, Emma and Lucy – who proudly profess “two heads are better than one” – will work together to establish new group business leads within the corporate and leisure markets.
Emma’s previous role as assistant director of Sales at Dorchester Collection saw her oversee the Business Leisure sales team. The Manchester Metropolitan University graduate was also previously director of sales at The Wellesley and held senior sales positions at Baglioni Hotel Collection and Melia Hotels International.
“Gleneagles is one of a kind and I am incredibly excited to get out there and start educating clients about the breadth of its offering.” says Emma.
“From the G8 Summit and State dinners hosted by The Queen, to our Glorious Garden Party and our decadent Season Opener celebrations, Gleneagles’ heritage and experience as a luxury events venue is unsurpassed. Whether our clients are seeking a beautiful space for a board meeting for ten, a conference facility for 2,000 delegates, or an action-packed itinerary for a corporate away-day, the estate provides an inspiring and truly Scottish setting for every kind of gathering.”
Fellow Dorchester Collection alumna Lucy, who acted as senior sales manager for the luxury hotel group, has also held senior sales positions at a raft of other prestigious properties, including InterContinental London Park Lane, and Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel.
Lucy, who first visited Gleneagles as a young child, had always dreamed of working for the Perthshire property. She says: “From its award-winning spa to its array of country pursuits and Michelin-starred dining, Gleneagles is a destination like no other, representing the very best of everything Scotland has to offer.”
Commenting on the novel job share structure, she said: “This structure is virtually unheard of in the hospitality industry so I am very proud to be associated with a brand that is so forward thinking and trusts in our ability to succeed in this role. In joining forces, our clients are getting a double dose of passion and dedication.”
Jane McGee, Gleneagles’ commercial director says: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy and Emma to the team at such an exciting time – at the completion of what has been the most significant investment project in our history. We have set an ambitious goal to strengthen our profile in the groups market, and are thrilled to have Lucy and Emma with their pool of talents contribute to the realisation of that vision.”
