Scotland’s fastest-growing broadband provider, GoFibre, has stepped into a new sponsorship deal with one of the largest dance schools in North-east Scotland.
The independent broadband builder and provider has been named as the headline sponsor for Rhythm Nation Dance’s four summer shows which will take place in June in Aberdeen and Laurencekirk.
Rhythm Nation Dance holds classes in Stonehaven, Laurencekirk, Aberdeen City, and Banchory, in authentic street dance, acrobatic dance, ballet, tap, and lyrical styles. Its classes are open to children from age three and up to, and including, adults. The award-winning dance school supports hundreds of families every week and aims to help tackle rural deprivation by ensuring its children’s classes are accessible and affordable.
The sponsorship announcement comes after GoFibre recently began construction on a landmark project to deliver lightning-fast full-fibre broadband, which is capable of gigabit speeds, to around 100,000 homes and businesses in some of North-east Scotland’s hardest to reach communities This includes thousands of premises across Aberdeenshire.
For the first time, rural residents and businesses in areas, including Aberdeenshire, will enjoy the same world-class connectivity as Scotland’s major cities.
The Scottish independent broadband builder and provider has invested in Rhythm Nation Dance as part of its social impact strategy which aims to make a positive, long-term difference to its customers and their communities.
Cameron Moir, Senior Delivery Manager, GoFibre, said: “Working with Rhythm Nation Dance really excites us as a lot of its story mirrors our own. Our two organisations are currently expanding in the north east, and we're both focused on combatting the inequalities that can exist in rural Scotland. At GoFibre, we’re improving digital connectivity in rural and underserved areas.
“We’re also committed to investing in the communities where we operate or are building our network, so we’re proud to be supporting Rhythm Nation Dance’s summer shows, which not only give their performers a chance to shine but support their mental and physical wellbeing.
“Rhythm Nation Dance is the first dance school we’ve sponsored, and we can’t wait to see how this partnership evolves. We’re also looking forward to some terrific performances during the summer shows.”
Natasha Stewart, Director, Rhythm Nation Dance, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to have GoFibre supporting our summer shows this year and especially proud to be the first dance school they have sponsored. Their investment shows a genuine commitment to supporting the arts and local communities.
“At Rhythm Nation Dance, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for children and young people across the North-east to perform, build confidence and stay active. This partnership means a great deal to us and to the families we work with every day.
“We’re incredibly proud to be building something special here in the North-east of Scotland, and we can’t wait to see our dancers take to the stage this summer.”
