Local Aberdeen social care charity VSA raised £109K from donations and pledges at annual fundraising ball which was held at the Ardoe House Hotel on Saturday, November 4.
The event which was hosted by Decon Blue legend Dougie Vipond was based on the iconic children’s classic ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and all monies raised from the night has gone towards supporting the charity’s mental health services that they deliver across Aberdeen.
Established in 1870 VSA has helped thousands of the most vulnerable people and their families living in communities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Today VSA provide vital support and services to people of all ages across four core areas: Children and Families; Adult and Community; Education and Learning; and Carers Support. VSA supports a person’s mental, physical and social wellbeing through a range of residential and outreach services.
Jennifer Mitchell head of fundraising said “It is with thank to our sponsors, guests and the many individuals and companies who donated items for our auction and raffle that our annual ball was such a success. I have been completely overwhelmed by peoples’ generosity and the money we raised from the ball will make a huge difference to our mental health services and the people we support. On behalf of everyone at VSA and our service users I would like to say a big thank you to every who came along and supported us or volunteered at the ball. Your help and support enables us to deliver the best of care so that local people can live the best of lives”
Planning for the 2018 ball is well underway and should anyone be interested in sponsoring the event or attending please contact the fundraising department on 01224 212021 or e-mail fundraising@vsa.org.uk for further information.
