Aberdeen-born music producer Graham Edwards has joined Scottish entertainment company Black Tartan as its Head of Music.
Edwards’ career has taken him from Kincorth to the heart of the international music industry, producing and writing for some of the world’s biggest artists, including Justin Bieber, David Bowie, Shakira and Britney Spears.
As a founding member of production and songwriting trio The Matrix, Edwards helped create a catalogue that has sold more than 35 million records, establishing the group as one of the most sought-after production teams of the 2000s.
The seven-time Grammy nominee also famously co-wrote and produced Avril Lavigne’s breakthrough hits “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi”, with his work achieving billions of streams and millions of record sales worldwide.
Now bringing more than 25 years of international music industry experience back to his home city, Edwards will guide Black Tartan’s expansion into music and concerts as the company builds toward becoming a globally recognised Scottish entertainment group.
Edwards said: “The music industry and how we experience music has changed so much. Black Tartan is going to revolutionise how concerts and events of all kinds are put together.”
