Greggs has revealed increasing sales with more stores opening late and the rate of cost inflation easing.
The sausage roll makers reported a 20.8% leap in sales in the 13 weeks to September 30, compared with the same period last year.
The nationwide chain opened a new store on Aberdeen's Union Street earlier this year before a new drive-thru opened in Westhill last month, creating dozens of new jobs.
Longer operating hours has also contributed to improving sales, sales after 4PM now account for nearly a tenth (8.8%) of all its trade.
A branch in Aberdeen's Union Square is now open until 9PM at night, with other stores opening until as late at 7PM.
A net 82 stores have been opened by Greggs across the UK in the last year, taking their UK total to 2,410.
Prices to stay for Christmas
Greggs raised its prices by 5p and 10p this June, but Chief Executive Roisin Currie says prices have been frozen this year.
Speaking to Reuters following the quarterly update, Currie said: "We don’t have any plans currently to take any further price rises pre-Christmas."
The CEO also said the rate of cost inflation easing in areas such as dairy and vegetable oils has contributed to increasing sales.
But she warned that significant inflation remains in the market in areas such as staff costs.
