Anyone who’s ever dreamt of a career in radio is being offered the chance to explore behind the mic at a networking event in Aberdeen.

DJ and The Big Scottish Football Show presenter Beth Wallace will join guests for an evening of candid conversation on Thursday, May 14.

Beth will unpack her career journey, discuss what makes a content pitch stand out, explain what presenters want and share the do’s, don’ts and valuable lessons she’s picked up along the way.

The event is being organised by the North East Communications Group, which aims to bring together anyone studying or working in the communications industry in the Aberdeen area.

Committee member Emma Murray, marketing and ESG manager at Aramark Global Energy, who organised the event, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Beth to talk about her career in radio, alongside being an event host. As well as offering practical tips for colleagues working in PR and marketing, she will have plenty of advice for anyone looking to start out or step up in the media.

“We are always keen to welcome new people to the North East Communications Group and anyone with an interest in radio or communications is welcome to join us.”

The event will be held at the Gaelic Lane Café and Studio, just off Belmont Street, from 7-9pm on May 14.

Refreshments will be provided and guests will have the opportunity to meet peers, swap ideas and make connections.

The North East Communications Group aims to provide a collaborative network for anyone working in any area of communications in the North-east of Scotland and provide positive opportunities for them to learn from each other, share ideas, continue to develop their skills and build relationships.
