As Aberdeen FC's Official Health and Wellbeing Partner, Health Shield are excited to be teaming up with the club to celebrate the start of the new season by launching a new series of business events, kicking off with a Health Check in September.

Part of the Aberdeen FC Team Talks series which sees the football club raise relevant business-related topics for discussion and knowledge sharing, the event is set to take place on the morning of Friday September 16, 2022 and follows on from Know Your Numbers week, which runs from September 5 – 11.

Health Shield with be joined by a number of other key panellists, including, Aberdeen FC’s Official Financial Planning Partners, Gary Walker Wealth Management, Official Education Partner, Robert Gordon University, and recently announced Official Net-Zero Advisory Partners, Positive Planet.

“In the aftermath of CV19, and the rise of hybrid and flexible working, the business case for employee wellbeing just got a whole lot stronger”, said Matt Liggins, Head of Wellbeing at Health Shield Friendly Society.

He added: “Knowledge is power, and it also can alleviate stress and reduce anxiety amongst staff. ‘Knowing our Numbers’ is vitally important as we look to improve employee health and wellbeing, business and economic health and the health of our planet.”

“Businesses need healthy, happy employees to drive recovery. Many will be looking at what they already do and how they can improve, and others will be looking for support and direction.”

This interactive session will include a live health check demo as well as an event exclusive to experience a free health check, which will take place after the event closes.*

The event will help employers understand ways to support staff with topics anticipated to cover the management of employee stress related to the ever increasing cost of living, to ways we can look to reducing our carbon-footprint and our household or business costs.

Sarah McColl, Partnership Manager at Aberdeen Football Club, said: “The goals are to raise awareness of the holistic nature of employee wellbeing and to focus on some tangible tools and resources that employers can utilise.

“We want to educate and upskill the audience. Employee wellbeing impacts a person’s engagement, performance, motivation, loyalty and levels of absence from work. It’s in everyone’s best interest to care about and prioritise this.”
