Help Aberdeen Foyer to raise funds and show support for young homeless people

The Foyer is part of a national campaign to End Youth Homelessness.

For over 22 years we have been working with young people who have been homeless or at risk where they live in the North-east of Scotland. We have seen young people move on into their own homes, they have found jobs or training and have started families - they have a future.

The Foyer Sleep Out 2017 is on Thursday, November 23, from 7pm until 7am the following morning, at the car park of Sir Ian Wood House, Hareness Road, Aberdeen. We are looking for people to take on the challenge of giving up their warm bed to spend a cold November night outside with nothing but a sleeping bag and a cardboard mat.

It sounds tough, but that’s the reality for an increasing number of young people who have nowhere else to go and no one to support them. We need your help to raise vital funds to continue to give homeless young people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire a future.

The Sleep Out is a fundraising event designed to show solidarity and to raise money and awareness of homelessness and although it does not claim to replicate homelessness in any way, you will experience the discomfort of trying to sleep on cardboard boxes on a hard, cold floor during the winter. Don’t worry we will provide refreshments and entertainment throughout the evening!

A reason for taking part could be:

  • Team building – take on a challenge with friends and colleagues
  • Raise your company profile
  • Build up your volunteer hours
  • Fundraise for a great cause
  • Make a difference to a young person’s life
  • Have fun and experience something different
