First time buyers looking to take their first step onto the property ladder are being given a helping hand by Bancon Homes and the Scottish Government’s new First Home Fund.
Offering up to £10,000 towards a deposit, the scheme aims to make home ownership more accessible, particularly for those struggling to save while renting.
The fund is interest free, with the contribution repaid when the property is sold, making it an attractive and flexible option for buyers.
Properties up to £300,000 are eligible, with Bancon Homes properties at developments including The Reserve at Eden and Kinion Heights in Aberdeen and Beatlie Woods in Winchburgh.
As an added incentive, buyers can also take advantage of a range of additional offers, including deposit contributions, LBTT paid, flooring, turf for the garden and furniture packs. Buyers can also reserve their new home for just £99.
Bancon Homes is holding a series of First Home Fund events in partnership with the Mortgage Advice Bureau, who are on hand to advise buyers on their next move.
- The Reserve at Eden event will take place on Saturday 11 July, between midday and 4pm with David Balfour from Mortgage Advice Bureau.
- The Beatlie Woods event will take place on Saturday 11 July, between midday to 4pm led by Grant McKenna from Mortgage Advice Bureau
- The Kinion Heights event will take place on Saturday 18 July between midday and 4pm with Cameron McLean from Mortgage Advice Bureau.
Tony Williamson, Sales Director from Bancon Homes said: “The Scottish Government’s First Home Fund is a very welcome helping hand for first time buyers who are looking to purchase their first home.
“The scheme has been improved so that couples purchasing together are now eligible even if only one applicant is a first-time buyer, opening up the opportunity to a wider range of buyers. We therefore anticipate huge demand as the fund is limited.
“Bancon Homes has a range of two and three-bedroom homes across three of our developments that meet the criteria for the scheme. We are looking forward to helping buyers to explore opportunities in both Aberdeen and Winchburgh.”
The developments have been designed with modern living in mind, making them perfect for first-time buyers seeking high-quality homes in well-connected locations.
With demand expected to be high, prospective buyers are being encouraged to register their interest early and speak to the Bancon Homes sales team to find out how the First Homes Fund could help make their move a reality.
Jack Wilson, new build director at the Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: “We are looking forward to supporting Bancon Homes at their events and meeting first time buyers. We can offer advice on whether the scheme is a good fit for them and what to do next.”
