oliMoto, an Aberdeenshire-based Guinness World Record attempt supported by Aberdeen digital marketing agency Arch 35 Marketing, has secured sponsorship from Honda UK. Arch 35 has provided social media support to oliMoto since February 2026.

oliMoto is an attempt by Oli Purkis to become the youngest person to ride a motorcycle around the world. The Honda motorcycles for the ride will be unveiled at a John McGuinness Night at Shirlaws Motorcycles in Aberdeen on Thursday 22 October 2026 from 6pm. Shirlaws, which supplies Honda motorcycles, is also sponsoring oliMoto.

Arch 35 manages oliMoto’s social media, following the preparations in the run-up to the attempt. The agency is also hosting a remote student role on the project through an industry partnership with Heriot-Watt University.

Oli plans to leave Shirlaws at noon on 18 July 2027, with the official start in London on 21 July, covering 19,000 miles across 20 countries. His father, Joe Purkis, who has a background in health and safety, will ride alongside him in a support role.

Isle of Man TT rider John McGuinness will attend the event in person. All 125 tickets, priced at £25, have sold out, with all profits going to Save the Children.

Darren Cadger, managing director and co-founder of Arch 35 Marketing, said: “Most of our work is with Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire businesses, so a teenager riding round the world is a different kind of brief. The principles are the same though. Tell the story well and keep people following it. Seeing Honda UK get behind Oli is great news for Joe and the whole team, and the McGuinness night selling out shows how much interest there is in the North-east.”

Joe Purkis, Oli’s father and support rider for the attempt, said: “Arch 35 have been part of the team since February, looking after our social media. Riding round the world is one job, keeping people interested in it is another, and having them handle that side lets Oli and me focus on preparing for the ride.”

Arch 35 will continue to support oliMoto’s social media through to departure in July 2027. Further details on the attempt are at www.olimoto.co.uk.
