Windward Energy co-founder joins Hypercube to support long-term growth, governance and capital strategy.
Hypercube, the AI Decision Intelligence platform for the energy sector, has appointed leading energy entrepreneur and investor Stuart George as Non-Executive Director, further strengthening its board as the business enters its next phase of growth.
The appointment comes as Hypercube continues to scale its Decision Intelligence platform, CAIRN, expand its portfolio of AI modules for the energy sector and accelerate growth across the UK energy market.
Stuart brings two decades of experience in corporate finance, as well as building, funding and scaling businesses across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
In 2017, Stuart co-founded the Edinburgh-based Windward Energy Group, to develop large scale energy infrastructure across the UK. Within the group, they set up and launched Bute Energy, Green GEN Cymru and Haldane Energy. As Managing Director of Bute Energy from 2022-2025, he led the company through a period of rapid growth, scaling it into one of the UK’s largest independent onshore wind developers with a development portfolio of more than 2GW.
In 2025 Bute Energy and Green GEN Cymru strengthened the relationship with the principal funding partner, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), securing more than £600 million of investment to develop and deliver critical onshore wind and grid infrastructure.
Alongside his work in the energy sector, Stuart is an investor and co-founder of Edinburgh based investment platform LSG Capital.
As Non-Executive Director, Stuart will work closely with Hypercube’s leadership team to help shape the company’s long-term business strategy, strengthen governance, support future capital planning and help position the business for sustainable long-term growth.

The appointment further strengthens Hypercube’s board, as Stuart joins Bridgit Hartland-Johnson, global energy strategist and Non-Executive Director for Hypercube since November 2025.
Over the past year, Hypercube has continued to build momentum with the launch of multiple AI solutions across procurement, project management, contract intelligence and asset operations, while achieving AWS Energy & Utilities Competency in recognition of its specialist expertise delivering AI and cloud solutions for the energy industry.
Stuart’s appointment reflects Hypercube’s continued investment in the governance, leadership and strategic capability required to support the company’s long-term ambition of becoming the leading AI platform for the energy sector.
