US president Donald Trump will be hosted by King Charles at Windsor Castle today after flying into the UK on Tuesday evening.
Air Force One landed at Stansted just after 9pm on Tuesday and Trump was met by foreign secretary Yvette Cooper.
Speaking to reporters after his arrival, Trump expressed his fondness for Scotland and the North-east.
He said: "I love it. I love Turnberry, I love Aberdeen.
"I have a lot of things here that warm my heart. I want to tell you. It’s a very special place."
Trump will spend the day at Windsor Castle where F-35 jets from both the UK and US, as well as the Red Arrows, will perform a ceremonial flypast before a state dinner.
On Thursday, the president will head to Chequers to meet with prime minister Sir Keir Starmer and hold a joint press conference.
