The IADC North Sea Chapter is pleased to announce that Stuart Sutherland, Vice President Well Services UK at Odfjell Technology, has been appointed as Chapter Chair, whilst Bram van Zelm, Operations Manager – Valaris Limited, steps into the role of Chapter Vice Chair.
The pair will be working together to represent the Chapter’s members and advocate for a secure and sustainable future for the North Sea offshore drilling industry.
Stuart comments: "It is with great pride that I have taken on the role of Chair within the IADC North Sea Chapter. This position is both a privilege and a responsibility that I take very seriously. My objective is to advocate on behalf of the drilling community and the wider industry by amplifying their voice and ensuring our industry continues to play a vital role in delivering a secure, sustainable future.
"I would also like to thank Michael Boyd of Dolphin Drilling for his leadership, commitment and advocacy during his time as Chapter Chair and for the actions he has taken to strengthen the Chapter."
Bram adds: "After years of volatility, the disruption of Covid, the resulting loss of so much hard-won knowledge and experience, and the impact of UK government policy, we need the collective strength of IADC more than ever to tackle the issues no single organisation can address alone. For me, this is about giving something back to an industry that has given me so much – and making sure we support one another and stay adaptable as our work continues to evolve.”
