IKM has continued its support for Halfpenny Farm Animal Sanctuary, with colleagues returning to the not-for-profit organisation for another hands-on volunteering day.
Each year, members of the IKM team volunteer their time to support Halfpenny Farm, helping with practical jobs that contribute to the upkeep, safety and ongoing development of the sanctuary.
This year’s visit included a range of activities across the site, from painting and maintenance work to building electric fencing and supporting the creation of a new wellness corner.
The wellness area has been designed as a calm and reflective space within the farm and includes a seating area created in memory of a volunteer. Once fully completed, the area will feature additional planting and slate, helping to create a peaceful spot for visitors, volunteers and the wider Halfpenny Farm community.
Halfpenny Farm Animal Sanctuary provides care, shelter and support for animals while relying on volunteers, donations and community support to continue its work. IKM’s annual volunteering activity reflects the company’s commitment to supporting local not-for-profit organisations through practical, meaningful contribution.
Nic Parrish, Head of Corporate Services at IKM Testing UK, said: “Halfpenny Farm does fantastic work in the local community, and we are proud to continue supporting the team through our annual volunteering day.
"It is always a privilege to spend time at Halfpenny Farm and contribute to a place that means so much to us and so many people.”
A spokesperson from Halfpenny Farm said: "We are delighted with how the wellness area is coming together, alongside the other projects currently underway at Halfpenny Farm.
"Halfpenny Farm provides a forever home for animals who have been abandoned, neglected, or mistreated. Every animal in our care deserves to feel safe, loved, and free from fear.
"As a no-kill sanctuary, our running costs are significant. Caring for both our existing animals and the new animals who need our help is incredibly expensive. That is why volunteers and donations make such a meaningful difference.
"When people give their time, support, or resources, they directly help us continue providing the care our animals deserve. Every contribution, big or small, has a real impact and helps keep the farm running."
