ANM Group hosted its fifth collective machinery sale of the year on Saturday, June 29, which saw more than 2,000 buyers and sellers in attendance at Thainstone Centre and featured 2,571 items forward for auction.
Mark Barrack, head of Thainstone Specialist Auctions, said: “It was yet another great sale at Thainstone – there was strong seasonal demand for good quality grassland equipment and there was notable pre-harvest buyer interest in grain trailers. JCB excavators continue to prove popular amongst our onsite and online buyers and were keenly bid for.
“This sale also saw many interesting and unique items go under the hammer, such as a 2004 VW motorhome from the Scottish Fire & Rescue service which made an impressive price of £10,100, and a group of children’s quad bikes that attracted plenty of online and subsequently made a combined £2,270.
“With only three collective machinery sales left this year at Thainstone, we encourage sellers to get in touch with us prior to our next auction in August to realise the true value of their goods and achieve the best price on the day.”
The top selling item, a 2010 JCB 4CX Sitemaster digger in the tractor and plant section, achieved £30,000 at the auction. For light commercials and 4x4s, a 2018 Vauxhall Vivaro 2700 Sportive Cdti claimed the highest price £11,700, and a 2009 Mercedes Axor 1824 4x4 gritter made £10,200 in the heavy commercials section. Trailers and containers saw a Nooteboom step-frame trailer realise $4,000, and a John Deere 864 baler achieved £8,000 the farm implements category saw.
The live and online event, hosted by ANM Group, is held eight times per year at Thainstone Centre, Scotland’s premier auction centre. The sale is well-attended by both on-site and online buyers and sellers, with buyers from across UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland making substantial purchases through the sale’s online platform.
The next plant, machinery and equipment sale is scheduled for Saturday 17th August 2019 from 9am at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie. Consignors are encouraged to submit their entries as soon as possible to receive maximum exposure to potential buyers.
