The second annual AREG SME Technology Showcase was held on Tuesday 30 September at the Sandman Hotel, Aberdeen, bringing together supply chain innovators, industry professionals, partners and stakeholders to explore the technologies driving the future of renewable energy.
The event featured a packed programme of industry niche sessions, rapid-fire Tech Byte presentations and an exhibition space showcasing solutions on the bleeding edge of technology and research in AI & digital tech, subsea innovation, data engineering and offshore wind.
Panels were chaired by notable industry figures such as Karen O’Hanlon (Opportunity North East), Suzanne O’Hare (Scottish Enterprise), Jodie Mewse (Fugro), Isla Robb (ETZ Ltd), and AREGs Philip Imperiale, who each guided the sessions and highlighting the SMEs who are playing a critical role in enabling and advancing the energy transition.

Scottish Enterprise supported the event as Platinum Sponsor, reiterating its commitment to innovation and the strengthening of the industry’s supply chain. Event partners Elementz and Veunex demonstrated their positions as committed members of the industry and important contributors to its growth. The showcase was also supported by Lanyard sponsor Stronarchs and Event Supporter Opportunity North East (ONE).
Speaking on the success of the event, Jean Morrison, AREG’s Chairperson, said: "This year’s showcase has been excellent all round. We’ve seen incredible innovations from SMEs that have a real potential to vastly improve the supply chain and the industry. It was also great to see the networking, connecting and collaboration that happened in the exhibition hall.”
The event drew more than 80 delegates and 16 exhibiting companies, a reflection of the strong appetite for innovation and collaboration across the sector.
