The work of final year students at Robert Gordon University’s Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment will be showcased next week at the end of year show.
The students will showcase their innovative and imaginative designs and ideas relating to three different projects – a new settlement situated beside the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR); an urban development within Aberdeen city centre; and a post-oil expansion to a suburb in Bergen.
The Scott Sutherland End of Year Show launches this Saturday, June 17, and will run until Friday, June 23.
David Vila Domini, architecture course leader, who is coordinating this year’s show, commented: “Our End of Year Show showcases the best work of our students across all disciplines, reflecting the broad spectrum of activities undertaken within the School.
“On display are a broad range of design projects that ably demonstrate the high calibre of our students, as well as the sophisticated skills they develop that make them highly sought after by employers. Visitors will see work that achieves a refined balance between imagination and realism, a balance that renders work progressive and inspiring, yet also credible and compelling.
“As a school we are interested in addressing real scenarios and conditions, exploring these with creativity and rigour. It is this focus that equips our graduates to make an impact and lasting contribution to our professions, our industry, our communities and to society.”
