International School Aberdeen (ISA) has announced the launch of a new Scholarship Programme aimed at nurturing intellectual curiosity and sporting talent.
The new scheme is designed to create opportunities for talented students from across the North-east to join the school's vibrant community.
The scholarships, which include an automatic 10% fee reduction, are being offered via two distinct pathways.
The S1 Scholarships are open to Primary 7 students applying for entry. This pathway seeks to recognise young people who show significant promise, whether they are a talented 'all-rounder' with strength across diverse fields like academics, the arts, and service, or a student with a pronounced talent in one specific academic or creative area.
Dedicated Sports Scholarships are also on offer for entry into Primary 5, S1, or S3. This route is open to enthusiastic young athletes who demonstrate a high level of ability and passion for any sport, from climbing and swimming to basketball and tennis, regardless of whether the sport is currently offered at the school.
The school notes that if a scholarship is awarded for a sport it offers, recipients will have the chance to represent ISA on the school team. This commitment brings with it significant opportunities, including travel to international sports tournaments. School teams have recently competed in London and Stavanger, with events in Lisbon, Barcelona and Madrid scheduled for the near future.
Nick Little, Head of School at ISA, said the programme was an exciting development for the school.
"We are incredibly proud to launch this new programme. It is a fantastic opportunity to welcome new talent into our community from across Aberdeen and the North East," said Mr. Little. "We are passionate about providing a world-class IB education, and this programme helps us open that door to more students. We are looking for young people with a spark, whether that's in a classroom, on a stage, or on a sports field."
The scholarship launch marks a significant new pathway for students in the region. As the only school in Aberdeen offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, ISA holds a unique position, providing a globally-recognised curriculum cultivating a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives.
